Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How soon can I get my stickers?

Once we have all the digital files and the approved proofs we can have your order printed, packaged and ready for shipping in 4 days. Order size may impact the timeline.

Can I make changes to my order after everything has been approved?

Short answer, Yes.

Long answer, there will most likely be additional charges based on how far along your order is, and how much the changes affect the final order. If it’s a design change, and we are already printing, this may require an additional order. If you require an increased quantity, the order total will be adjusted accordingly. After approval has been done, a reduced quantity is no longer possible. (plus, who wants fewer stickers anyway, right?!)

What is the quality of materials used?

At Steam Engine Stickers, we only offer stickers made from premium quality materials. We feel the stickers we create for you are generally the first impressions you’ll make with your business, brand or events. We use premium vinyl as our foundation, along with state-of-the-art ink technology to create a durable yet elegant product. To top things off, if you have chosen a top laminate, the laminate we use has been manufactured to properly bind with our vinyl to produce the best stickers possible!

To laminate or not to laminate? That is the question!

First off, what is laminate? Laminate is a clear film applied over the top of a sticker to protect it against sunlight, as well as constant contact with other things. Sunlight can fade the ink over time (we are talking 3-4 years down the road). Also, have you ever seen a sticker on say, someone’s water bottle, where most of the ink is gone but the vinyl is still there? If someone or something is constantly touching a non-laminated decal, the ink will wear off over time. Adding laminate to your decals will improve the life span in sunlight by a couple of years, as well as help them resist ink from wearing away.

If 3-4 years outdoors is good enough for what you need, or your decals aren’t seeing a lot of contact, maybe saving cost and going non-laminated suits your needs!

What’s the difference between no bleed and full bleed?

Full bleed stickers will go all the way to the edge, where-as no bleed stickers will leave a border.

How durable are your stickers really?

Steam Engine Stickers have literally been on the top of the world. Our pal Trevor Stuart climbed to the top of Mount Everest with our decals on his equipment. Our decals have also been on cars that have been clocked at over 400km/h (250+mph for our American buds.)

This is another reason why we use only premium materials. Once we’ve done our part, it’s up to you to keep the quality going.

When installing your decals, be sure your chosen surface is clean, and that you don’t install in cold weather. We recommend installing our stickers in no colder than 5°C (about 40°F, you Americanos!). If cold weather cannot be avoided at install, we recommend using a heat gun to bring the surface up to an acceptable temperature.

Where are Steam Engine Stickers made?

We proudly make our stickers in the Great White North, of course! Just like us, our stickers are 100% made in Canada!
